Membership & Event Coordinator

 

Position: The Membership & Event Coordinator will be responsible for the management, delivery and oversight of Snowboard Nova Scotia programs including the Provincial Event Series, Little Riders, Club support with Riders programming (Green, Blue and Black), Indigenous Programming and Elleboard (Kindred Collective).

 

Reports to: Snowboard Nova Scotia Executive Director & Excellence Coach.

 

Term: Seasonal Contract, January 15th, 2024 – April 15th, 2024 *dates subject to change.

Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and evenings as required.

Travel across province is required for this role.

 

The Membership & Event Coordinator, is responsible for, but not limited to the following:

General

  1. Work with the Snowboard NS Coaching Staff, Judging Coordinator and Officials Coordinator to arrange registrations through the SnowReg system, host the Snowboard NS Provincial Event Series.
  2. Promote Snowboard NS, its programs, events, and services through required channels
  3. Act as one of the main contact for hills/clubs for Snowboard NS programs & events
  4. Coordinate additional contracted coaches/instructors as required for delivery of approved programming, training and events
  5. Lead in the development and implementation of the nationally recognized programs
  6. Assist in the development and implementation of grassroots events
  7. Assist in implementing and maintaining a system of producing, inventorying, and distributing resource materials
  8. Assist in any applications or reporting as required
  9. Any additional duties that arise and prescribed by Snowboard NS

 

 

Little Riders Activations, Indigenous programming opportunities

Responsible for, but not limited to;

  1. Scheduling and planning with stakeholders
  2. Recruitment and scheduling of staffing as required
  1. Event & equipment organization
  2. Communication – Pre-& post event or program
  3. Social media marketing

 

Club support (Riders programming) and Elleboard (Kindred Collective)

Responsible for, but not limited to;

  1. Organize meetings with Riders Program Coaches about Snowboard NS programs and opportunities (Snowboard NS Events, Programs, Shred Hookups, PD Opportunities & Coaching Courses)
  2. Social media pre, during and post event
  3. Reporting including riders’ membership signup

 

Qualifications: Coaching or Officials certifications preferred but not required.

Contract compensation and benefits shall be commensurate with the experience and skills of the successful candidate and the nature of a provincial sport organization.
