Coaching Program
Every Nova Scotia Snowboard coach is certified through the Canada Snowboard and NCCP National coaching system. The first step to become a snowboard coach is to take the Canada Snowboard Competition Introduction coaching course. There is generally a Competition Introduction course offered by NS Snowboard every December and January.
In order to coach athletes in Nova Scotia, coaches must have an active Canada Snowboard Coaching License and Nova Scotia Snowboard Coaching membership, renewable each year on July 1st. Please see the Canada Snowboard Licensing requirements to ensure you have met the minumum to continue to coach.
For more information please contact: cassandra@snowboardnovascotia.ca
Visit the Canada Snowboard Coaching Website for more info, or contact Excellence Coach Cassandra Smith at cassandra@snowboardnovascotia.ca.
Coaches are expected to follow the coaching scope of practice from Canada Snowboard. NSSBD events support this scope of practice by ensuring that all coaches at events are in training, trained or certified at the appropriate level. To ensure this coaches are asked to register for events as coaches through the snowreg plaform event registration links.
