This is a full-time position as a common Executive Director to each of the three<br \/>\nprovincial sport organizations.<\/p>\n<p>The Executive Director is a business leader, a strategic thinker, and a passionate advocate for snow sports in Nova<br \/>\nScotia. Reporting to the Executive and Board of Directors of each PSO, the Executive Director will have overall<br \/>\nstrategic and operational responsibility for staff, programs, administration, and execution of the strategic plan for<br \/>\neach organization. The creation, development, and stewardship of relationships with PSO members (including<br \/>\nmember clubs), National Sport Organizations, the Government of Nova Scotia, Sport Nova Scotia, Canadian Sport<br \/>\nInstitute-Atlantic, Nova scotia local ski hill operators, and other stakeholders, will be key to the success of this role.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities of the Executive Director<br \/>\nAdministration:<br \/>\n\u2022 Organization of and attendance to Annual General Meetings, Executive, and Board meetings.<br \/>\n\u2022 Respond to all email &amp; phone enquiries as required.<br \/>\n\u2022 Work closely with the treasurers to ensure that all financial and accounting functions are completed in a<br \/>\ntimely fashion.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ensure that membership data is reported to Sport Nova Scotia portal annually.<br \/>\n\u2022 Work with each organization to ensure that NCCP delivery meets the requirements of the membership.<br \/>\n\u2022 Promote coaching education opportunities to the membership.<br \/>\n\u2022 Work with the member organizations to ensure that each PSO meets NSO and Sport Nova Scotia Safe<br \/>\nsport compliance.<br \/>\n\u2022 Communicate with stakeholders both internally and externally.<br \/>\n\u2022 Work with competition committees to ensure annual competition schedules are completed.<br \/>\n\u2022 Communicate information from NSO\u2019s to respective boards of directors.<br \/>\nGrant Program Management<br \/>\n\u2022 In conjunction with each PSO, to ensure that the all the requirements for annual funding are met including<br \/>\noutcomes submissions and annual eligibility.<br \/>\n\u2022 Advise sports on opportunities for other Sport Nova Scotia grant programs.<br \/>\n\u2022 Help sports craft applications when applicable.<br \/>\nCollective Duties<br \/>\n\u2022 Work with the four Nova Scotia ski hill operators to ensure that statistics of membership are recorded and<br \/>\nprovided to stakeholders.<br \/>\n\u2022 Create and maintain each PSO website.<br \/>\nGeneral Sport Development<br \/>\n\u2022 Actively stay up to date with latest sport development trends and information (Canada Sport Policy, CS4L,<br \/>\nLTAD, PSO and NSO best practices).<br \/>\n\u2022 Attend relevant Sport Nova Scotia meetings and Provincial and Nationals sport conferences when required.<br \/>\n\u2022 The Executive Director will be expected to attend targeted events, races and\/or meetings to represent and<br \/>\nfoster external stakeholder relationships.<br \/>\nSelection Criteria<br \/>\nCandidates applying for the Executive Director role will require a range of personal and professional skills, including:<br \/>\n\u2022 Approachable and trustworthy, excellent people skills, and enjoys developing positive relationships across<br \/>\na wide range of stakeholders.<br \/>\n\u2022 A dynamic problem solver and effective leader who inspires and positively influences those with whom you<br \/>\nwork.<br \/>\n\u2022 Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling you to present with conviction.<br \/>\n\u2022 A strategic thinker with the ability to create and articulate a vision, with the capacity to plan and prioritize.<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong business fundamentals and ability to collaborate with each PSO\u2019s executive and board in the<br \/>\ndevelopment and management of operating budgets and special project budgets.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to identify, develop and support new partnership and fundraising opportunities.<br \/>\n\u2022 A track record of operating with the highest level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.<br \/>\nRemuneration<\/p>\n<p>Compensation and benefits shall be commensurate with the experience and skills of the successful candidate and<br \/>\nthe nature of a provincial sport organization.<\/p>\n<p>How to Apply<br \/>\nShould you be interested in pursuing this leadership opportunity, all applicants are invited to confidentially submit<br \/>\ntheir cover letter and resume for consideration by email to:<br \/>\nJohn Boudreau<br \/>\nPresident of Ski Nova Scotia<br \/>\nJohn.boudreau@mcinnescooper.com<br \/>\nPlease include in the subject line of your application: Snow Sports Executive Director<br \/>\nThis role posting will close on Sunday March 5th, 2023, at 11:59 pm Halifax local time.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>D\u00e9sol\u00e9, cet article est seulement disponible en English.
